At the end of your 6 month term, simply select a new plan, or transition seamlessly to our month-to-month Variable Rate plan. Should you choose to cancel service with North American Power prior to the end of the term, you will be subject to an early termination fee of $10.00 per month remaining on the contract.

How it works:

North American Power's core business is supplying low cost power in competitive markets. We are experts at buying wholesale energy from a more efficient mix of power plants.

National Grid will continue to deliver your electricity, via their distribution system just as they always have. The only difference will be a new electricity rate on the supply portion of your bill. If the power goes out, you'll still contact National Grid.

How you could save:

Because of energy choice in Rhode Island, you can choose the company that supplies your electricity.

There's no interruption in service, and no equipment or service visits needed.

The only thing that changes is the rate you pay for your electric supply.

What others say:

"North American Power provides cheaper rates than my utility, and they are just as reliable..."

"A cheaper alternative, with a seamless transition you can make online in minutes..."

"The only difference is a much lower bill."

It's easy to switch, and takes only a few minutes.

Some Q&A:

Q. How could North American Power offer competitive rates on my electricity?
A. When your state deregulated its energy market, it opened the industry to competition so that homeowners and businesses could shop for the best value. This has allowed companies like North American Power to buy energy in the wholesale markets and have control over the rates we can offer customers. Our electricity flows into the Local Power Pool and is delivered to your home or business by your local utility via existing power lines just as it always has. The only difference will be a new electric rate on the supply portion of your bill.
Q. What other benefits will I receive from North American Power?
A. North American Power is committed to the environment, providing renewable energy options at no extra cost. As a greenelectric customer, you can feel great knowing that either 25% or 100% of the electricity you use will be offset through the purchase of renewable energy certificates made on your behalf.
Q. When will my new North American Power supply rate officially take effect?
A. Depending on your utility and meter read date, it may take 1-2 billing cycles before you see North American Power's name and rate on your electricity bill. To avoid delays, please make sure you accurately enter all of your customer information while enrolling.
Q. Will there be any additional adjustments to my bill upon switching to North American Power?
A. When switching from Standard Offer Services to a Nonregulated Power Provider, Customers should contact their EDC (National Grid) to determine if there are any applicable billing adjustments associated with their rate codes.
Q. So my local utility will still service my account?
A. Yes. You are still a customer of your local utility. They will continue to provide the electricity, billing, and repairs.
Q. How does switching to North American Power for supply services affect the rest of my bill?
A. Savings do not apply to utility delivery charges and taxes, and are subject to change.
Q. Will my electricity be interrupted when I change my utility's supply to yours?
A. Nope. You'll never see a flicker. The transition is seamless. All you'll notice is your new electric rate. It's that easy.
Q. Will I have to get a new meter or any new equipment?
A. No. You keep your meter and your local utility will still read it just as it always has.
Q. Who do I pay?
A. Your current utility. They will still send you just one bill and you will continue to make the payment to them. Nothing changes except that North American Power will be listed on your bill as your electric supplier and the supply rate will be North American Power's rate. If you wish to change your current payment method, you can do so through the utility.
Q. Who do I contact in an emergency?
A. Your current utility. For reference, visit your local utility's website.
Q. Who do I contact about North American Power's portion of the bill?
A. Us. 888-313-9086.
Q. Who do I contact if I need a hug?
